The end of the summer often offers a certain sentimentality, a singular opportunity to look forward and back at the same time. We’re thinking of camping and school and nature, we’re thinking of new projects and to-do lists and deadlines. Remembering forgotten errands and remembering way back when we first met.
‘Are We There Yet’ is a pairing of pleasant nostalgia and restless angst. The intentionally slow techniques used by Bianco and Nyoo clash with the perpetual question; are we ever really ‘there’ in life? The contrariness of a carefully hand embellished garment and the notion of not moving fast enough in life is one to ponder…but there’s time for that on the way.
